The 6th China India Forum was jointly hosted by Government of Karnataka in Bengaluru on 9th and 10th November 2017

China and India, as ancient civilizations with big populations are emerging economies with highest speed of GDP growth. There are great development opportunities and unique cooperative potentiality because of resource complementarities of the two countries. China Craze and India Craze is rising. Chinese enterprises are entering the Indian market to grasp the opportunity. Local governments are working enthusiastically to be Sister City and Sister State. Head count of two-way tourism has reached 1 million people. Bilateral trade and economic relations development gets into the fast lane with next 10 golden years.

The Sixth China India Forum focused on Innovation. The future of all businesses are based on innovation and more so in the fast changing world connected by internet and social media. Enterprises need to not only innovate their businesses but also technology, production and management.

As an important activity between two countries, the Forum showcased the Chinese dragon and the Indian elephant harmonizing together in the IT Capital of the World, Creating future of economic and trade integration together with the concept of mutual learning among civilizations and gathering people’s intelligence.

Inaugural

The main ceremony began with lighting of lamp and then the National Anthem of both countries. Hon. Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri. Siddaramaiah, inaugurated the Forum. The Guest of Honours were Shri. R. V. Deshpande Minister of Large & Medium Industries & Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, Shri. Subhash Desai Minister of Industries Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Liu Jin Song, Charge de Affairs and Minister, Chinese Embassy in India, New Delhi, Mr. Wang Xiaodong, Vice Governor of Hebei Province, Mr D V Prasad, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Commerce & Industries Department and Ms. Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC.
After Inaugurating the forum, Hon. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said that Karnataka has several advantages over other states including talent to make it an innovative and hi-tech manufacturing hub of India. “We will do everything possible to enable the seamless conduct of business, with total transparency and with the assurance that your projects will be speedily implemented”. He said that India and China’s relations have undergone an evolution in recent years developing along a positive track, into a friendly partnership. It has made great strides in recent years and has become truly multi-dimensional, spurred by a significant convergence of interests, mutual goodwill and high-level exchanges, he added.
Hon. Industries minister RV Deshpandeji encouraged Chinese investors to invest in Karnataka, saying that the state has been “making in India” for 70 years and that the state had a startup policy even before Prime Minister Narendra Modi coined the word Startup India. He said the state was the first to formulate a policy for IT, for startups, biotechnology and even for electric vehicles, and added that Havells, Asian Paints and Honda have their largest plants in Karnataka. He also said that Karnataka is an ideal first choice for investment as one of the most entrepreneurial states in the country and There are huge opportunities for collaboration between Karnataka and China.

Launch Event - Committee of Corporate Citizenship(CCC)

IBLF announced the Formation of its China Chapter IBLF Committee of Corporate Citizenship (CCC). It invited China Telecom, Xiao Mi, Highly, Media Tek, and Fortune Plus from the Chinese side and Podar Enterprise, Enterprise Infrastructure, Prime Urban Development, J. K. Enterprises and OysterCapital Management from Indian side to be Founder Members.
IBLF CCC Aim is be to encourage Entrepreneurial Spirit, Business Relations and Undertake Corporate Citizen Responsibility. Mr. Wang Yonglin, CEO of China Telecom was announced as the First President of ICCC and was presented with a certificate.
