The 6th Convention of the International Business Linkage Forum (IBLF) was held on June 18th & 19th 2009 in Sandton Sun Center in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Forum had participation and presentations from governments namely – Canton Of Zug, Switzerland, the Dutch Trade Board, South Africa, and the Western Australian Trade Office, and participation of members from 14 countries.
Mr. Iqbal M. Sharma – Deputy Director General, the dti was also the President of the 6th IBLF convention. Mr. Rajiv Podar – Chairman of IBLand F, HE R. K. Bhatia – High Commissioner Of India in South Africa the Guest of Honour & HE Thandi Tobias Pokolo – Deputy Minister, Trade and Industry South Africa were among the dignitaries present on the Inauguration.
CEO and high-Level Management from leading companies made presentations on Opportunities in the Mining, Power, Hospitality, and Tourism sectors. A special breakfast meeting with HE Mr. Firoz Cachalia, the Honorable minister of Economic Development of Gauteng Province was among the highlight of the forum.
The event was covered and televised by Media Partner CNBC Africa. The one on ones saw fruitful negotiations and the exchange of several opportunities among delegates.
The convention was a huge success and the summing up by Mr. Iqbal M. Sharma, Deputy Director General of the di said he would like to see IBLF host the next 9 conventions (one in each province) in South Africa.
